Barbecue Secrets Wins Magazine Award
VANCOUVER – Rockin’ Ronnie Shewchuk’s bestselling book, Barbecue Secrets: Unbeatable Recipes, Tips & Tricks From a Barbecue Champion (Whitecap Books), has been named one of the best three food books of the year as part of Vancouver Magazine’s 16th Annual Restaurant Awards.
“Ronnie is like a southern-style preacher – incredibly passionate about the craft of barbecue, and his secrets are worth sharing,” wrote one judge. “This book has been so well received simply because Ronnie’s charismatic personality jumps off the page.”
Barbecue Secrets took the Silver Award in the food book category. The book is in good company; the Gold Award went to The Cannery Seafood House Cookbook by Frederic Couton, and Hot Sun, Cook Shadow: Savouring the Food, History and Mystery of the Languedoc by Angela Murrills won Bronze.
